Balloon Art After Dark in Hollywood
This is one of my favourite photos so far of 2011. It was taken in July at the Hollywood Fringe opening night party, and features the balloon art of Eddie Medrano.
One of the things that made the Hollywood Fringe so amazingly fun was hanging out with all the various amazing and talented people at the Fringe Central tent each night. Drinks were discounted for anyone wearing a fringe button (pictured), and the crew behind the bar could make a mean sangira (also pictured).
Eddie, the man responsible for the balloon work, is an authentic ex-Ringling Brothers Circus clown, an astonishingly talented balloon artist, and an absolutely lovely human being. Though he wasn't part of the official Fringe, he was invited along to the opening night party to share his balloon work with the revellers.
As you can probably tell from the photo, it was appreciated.
